Job Title : Technical Sales Engineer - Tucker, GA
Reports to : Sales Manager
Position Summary
The Technical Sales Engineer will be responsible for developing, generating, and driving sales growth for the Company via direct sales to end users and distribution partners. The role includes generating product sales and providing applications and after-sales support to customers. Travel to existing and prospective customers, the company headquarters for training, and trade shows will be required. The ideal candidate should be goal-oriented with strong customer service, organizational, and communication skills. The role is based at DGSI's headquarters in Tucker, GA.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare sales plans to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
- Drive day-to-day sales with regular interaction with direct customers and distributors within the territory
- Strengthen geographical market presence for DGSI products
- Provide technical, application, and training support to distributors and end-users
- Prospect customers, follow up on sales leads, issue quotes, and / or prepare bid applications
- Develop, maintain, and grow the sales pipeline to meet growth targets
- Provide regular and accurate sales forecasts for management reporting
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers' decision makers and users of the instrumentation
- Perform product demonstrations or training as required
- Be a strong team player willing to support in all areas of the business as required
- Other duties as assigned
Experience and Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Geotechnology or Environmental Engineering3-5 years of experience in managing distributors5+ years of experience in direct sales with technical products such as instrumentation, sensors, and material testingStrong understanding of distribution networks, sales strategies, and geotechnology / environmental market dynamicsExcellent organizational, negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skillsAbility to analyze sales metrics and market dataCritical thinking skills and ability to constructively resolve conflictsAbility to travel up to 50%Willingness to work extended hours as neededCompany Background
