Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Project Management, Business, Information Technology, Public Administration) required; Master's degree or advanced certifications preferred
Minimum of 5 7 years of progressively responsible project management experience, especially managing large / complex projects
Experience in government or public sector projects is highly desirable
Experience with IT projects, enterprise systems, or high-impact operational transformations preferred
Skills & Competencies
Strong leadership, communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational, planning, budgeting, and risk management abilities
Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and across organizational boundaries
Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g. PMBOK, Agile, Waterfall), tools, and best practices
Ability to handle ambiguity, shifting priorities, and complexity with sound judgment
Knowledge of state procurement, contracting, and compliance in California
Certifications (Preferred)
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or other Agile credentials
State of California Project Management Framework (PMF) experience / certification
Other relevant certifications (e.g. ITIL, COBIT)
