Job Title : Cost Analyst
Position Description :
The Cost Analyst / Mathematician will perform Cost Estimating Analysis supporting the development, fielding, and integration of the MDA Missile Defense System. Cost Estimating support includes development and maintenance of Life Cycle Cost Estimates (LCCE) and models for Defense Acquisition programs, analysis and reporting of cost data, and conducting excursions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Independently develop, present, and defend mathematical cost estimates, cost estimating relationships, and cost models
- Develop cost estimating relationships using applied mathematics, probability, statistics, regression analysis, linear algebra, learning curves, and data collection
- Use Data Analytics to obtain and analyze essential cost data from contractors' DD Form 1921s and Cost Performance Reports / Integrated Program Management Reports (CPR / IPMR) for the purpose of establishing a credible cost database
- Create and maintain Power Queries for data visualization of cost model outputs
- Participate in Business Case Analysis (BCA), Analysis of Alternatives (AOA), and risk analysis to develop multiple outputs using input variables by conducting what-if drills, sensitivity analysis, Monte-Carlo simulations, and other cost-related studies
- Review Cost Analysis Requirements Documents (CARDS)
- Collect and manage cost data, technical baseline data, and cost research / analysis
Education and Experience Requirements :
Education : Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Operations Research, Economics, Statistics, Business Analytics, or related field (Master's Degree preferred)Experience : Cost Estimating, Budget / Financial Management, Systems Engineering, or Data AnalyticsExcellent oral and written communication skillsExceptionally strong analytical skills and be detail orientedMust possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearanceDesired Experience Requirements :
Strong knowledge of MS Office with demonstrated experience in Excel, including advanced functions, pivot tables, and queriesWorking knowledge ACEIT, @Risk, Crystal Ball, or other similar parametric and cost risk toolsMembership and certification in International Cost Estimating and Analysis Association (ICEAA)Knowledge of planning, formulating, and applying DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution System (PPBES) methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functionsMust work independently and conduct strategic high-level coordination activitiesMust be a self-starter able to support multiple complex projects simultaneouslyVali, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.
