Legal Counsel (EEA Legal), Malta

The Role You will provide end-to-end legal support for Crypto.coms EEA operations, advising on product, regulatory, and commercial matters across multiple jurisdictions. You will partner with Compliance, Product, Operations, and Risk, and to enable compliant, scalable growth under evolving EU / EEA frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Advice on EU / EEA regulatory regimes impacting crypto and digital finance, including MiCA, PSD2, the EU Transfer of Funds / Travel Rule, AML / CFT, DORA and marketing rules;
• Support licensing, registrations, supervisory interactions, and regulatory change projects; draft submissions and respond to regulator RFIs;
• Provide product counseling for exchange, wallet, staking / rewards, payments / card, and institutional offerings; review UX, disclosures, and terms;
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements (vendor, technology, data, liquidity, custody, partnership, marketing);
• Manage cross-border legal risk, horizon scanning, and implementation of EU guidance (ESMA / EBA) and NCA expectations;
• Contribute to internal controls, audits, and board / management reporting.
