Location : Delaware County NY Head Start centers

Pay Rate : This is an individual contractual position open to hourly bid

10 month a year program (late August – June)

Per Diem Hours vary (approx. 20 hours yearly)

About the position :

• The Nutrition Consultant will assist the Delaware Opportunities Inc Head Start in the implementation of nutrition-related Performance Standards with the shared goal of achieving them with fidelity.
• The Consultant provides support and education for Head Start children, staff, management, and families of enrolled children in the areas of nutrition services.
• The expected Consultant services provided include :
• Collaborate with the Health Services Manager to support existing nutrition services, including policies and procedures for assessing a child's nutritional status.
• Available for staff and parent trainings promoting child, family, and staff nutritional wellness education.
• Review and approve USDA & CACFP cycle menus.
• Review Children's body mass index (BMI) and assist in the development and implementation of Individual Nutrition Plans.
