American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for an acute care assignment requiring current OR RN licensure and advanced certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the Emergency Room (ER) of an acute care hospital11 beds / trauma bays serving an average of 37 patients per dayVariable 12-hour evening and night shifts, including 10 : 00-22 : 00, 13 : 00-01 : 00, and 19 : 00-07 : 00Required to work every other weekend and some holidaysPatient ratios are typically 1 : 3-4Charting is performed using MEDITECH 5.66 EMRNo separate fast track; direct bed until full, quick triage approachER RNs manage all ER holds, triage, phlebotomy, and read stripsRT in-house 24 / 7; imaging department adjacent to ERScrub color is navy blueDepartment-specific orientation provided over 2-3 daysTrauma level 4 ER located next to a major interstateER RNs oversee triage, standard patient assignments, managing holds, and responding to a variety of emergency casesSecurity and respiratory therapy available on-site at all timesFloating is optional and generally not required for ERHoliday coverage is required unless approved in advanceFirst-time travelers are consideredRNs must follow departmental dress code of navy blue scrubs\n \n Requirements\n
Active OR RN license or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not acceptedMinimum 2 years of recent emergency department RN experience requiredCurrent certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC requiredIndependent thinker and self-motivated nursing skills requiredTwo professional references : one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 yearsCopy of driver’s license requiredMust not have been directly employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year (PRN via outside firms is acceptable)\n Benefits\n
