As a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) , you will be an essential member of our healthcare team, dedicated to delivering the highest level of care while upholding our mission and values. You will practice within the legal and ethical framework established by the Connecticut Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association, ensuring that your nursing practice is guided by leadership, collaboration, and effective communication.

Your Responsibilities

  • Standards of Practice : Utilize the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to provide competent nursing care.
  • Coordination of Care : Ensure seamless care delivery and transitions, promoting health and safety.
  • Health Teaching : Empower patients and families through education and support.
  • Professional Performance : Engage in ethical practice, culturally congruent care, effective communication, and collaboration with healthcare teams.
  • Leadership : Lead within your professional setting and contribute to quality nursing practices.

What We’re Looking For

  • Education : Graduation from an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred. Current BCLS certification required within one month of hire.
  • Experience : All RNs are encouraged to advance through the SPIRE clinical advancement program.
  • Licensure : Must be a licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut. Clinical specialty certification is highly encouraged.
  • Special Skills : A foundational understanding of nursing practices; commitment to professional growth.
  • Working Conditions

    This role requires :

  • Prolonged standing and walking
  • Use of sight, hearing, and touch
  • Ability to assist with lifting patients ranging from 5 to 300 pounds
  • Exposure to infectious diseases and various emotional conditions

    Note : This position is covered by the Connecticut Healthcare Associates Collective Bargaining Agreement. Orthopedic RN experience is preferred.
