Description :
Novel Energy Solutions is looking for two Heavy Civil Laborers for temporary work. Civil laborers perform a variety of tasks and assists other craft workers in the construction, maintenance, and repair activities on solar PV systems. This position is for a general labor installer on NES CSG or DG construction sites and may fill a leadership role for a single crew member or a full crew if appointed. The laborer may delegate some duties to other competent individuals but is ultimately responsible for the following functions :

Essential Functions :
- Preform daily and weekly general labor job functions and duties on Solar sites
- Stage, measure and install materials for PV systems.
- Provide daily reports to Foreman on progress and goals using appropriate forms and communication pathways.
- Mobilize, demobilize construction equipment.
- Maintain all, rental, or NES owned equipment on site to avoid failures caused by poor maintenance.
- Alert CSG managers and Human Resources of any potential personnel conflicts or injuries on site.
- Assist with the workflow of crews on site which can include scheduling with sub-contractors who may also be working on site.
- Adhere to the inventory policies, proper use, and maintenance of company-issued tools
- Preform the receiving of material or shipments to include safe unloading, checking material to Bill of Lading or Invoice, and maintaining paperwork for hand-off to foreman
- Follow NES and OSHA safety regulations and adhere to safety training
- Ensure quality of workmanship meets or exceeds minimum industry and NES standards.
- Arrive to work punctually and diligently perform the duties and tasks assigned
- Sign in on time to the appropriate task for proper tracking of labor hours
- Attend Toolbox talks and POD (Plan of the Day) meeting to uphold NES safety protocol on site. Completing and submitting all JHA’s (Job Hazard Analysis), Incident reports, and Activity reports to Foreman
- Determine need and send in requests for additional materials, equipment, and personnel. You must be specific and include pictures if possible. Communicate these needs with the Foreman
- Monitor and assist the workflow during installation to ensure the project is completed on designated date, coordinate with management about issues, delays, or setbacks.
- Be available for overtime or emergency response as needed.
Daily Activities :
Assist with transport of all equipment to site, not limited to installing, String line, staking, piling, Silt fence, perimeter fencing, torquing,Use of remediation tools, and hand tools,Set up and tear down of installation equipment.Assist with racking material offload and staging materials.Install materials for accuracy, and tolerance compliance according to plan spec.Complete or assist with QC documents to ensure proper install and submitting docs to Foreman.Tear down of all equipment in preparation of demobilization and moving to next siteCoordinate with construction managers for site plans, revisions, or project delaysCompetencies :

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to be either on site or having a designated crew member in their place until they return. It is expected the laborer to be available to crew members as much as possible except for material runs, meeting attendance, or other events that pull them from the site. This position is performed in outside weather conditions all 12 months of the year.

The position?lifts heavy objects, 50lbs or less, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.?The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively jumps, sprints or throws objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multilimbed coordination. The position requires the ability to?quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work :
This is a full-time position and may require longer hours and frequent weekend work.
