MBS is hiring a Documentation Control Specialist in Batavia, OH. This position is a full-time, direct hire opportunity.
FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Control internal and external product documentation including BOM’s, Gerber Files, Assembly Drawings, Work Instructions, and Test Instructions.
- Create and maintain product- and revision-specific documentation for all manufacturing processes using data integration software, ensuring accuracy and data integrity. Responsibilities include assigning internal component numbers, drafting assembly drawings for manufacturing, and generating machine programming data from CAD files.
- Coordinate and implement Engineering Change Notices (ECN) and Document Change processes.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and program management teams to ensure documentation remains accurate, up to date, and compliant with industry, company, and customer requirements.
- Organize new product kickoff meetings with process engineering, manufacturing leadership, and program management to review overall manufacturing processes.
- Prioritize workload and manage product documentation releases to align with production build schedules.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards (IPC, ISO, etc.) and customer-specific documentation requirements.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing and providing required documentation.
- Contribute to the implementation and ongoing improvement of document control processes and systems.
- Provide training and guidance on documentation practices as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.Effectively analyzes complex issues, gathers relevant data, and makes sound decisions.Ability to work independently, prioritize, multi-task, and adapt to changes in timelines.Leverages available resources to achieve critical objectives.Demonstrates leadership, integrity, and strong personal standards.Collaborates effectively with colleagues, contributing to a positive team environment and supporting shared goals.Understanding of Circuit Board design including reading component values, polarity, etc.Working knowledge of ISO 9001, IPC, RoHS, and other industry-specific compliance standards.Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP Business One preferred).Familiar with CAD file management and assembly drawing software, including AutoCAD, GC Prevue, and similar tools, to support accurate design documentation and workflow.Experience working with data integration software (Aegis Factory Logix preferred)Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.Associates degree in Electronics, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field is preferred; equivalent work experience may also be considered. Five years of experience in a documentation or product data role within a manufacturing environment is preferred.Ability to work in fast-paced environment.Ability to move or lift up to 50+ lbs.Ability to reach, grasp, hold, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, climb, kneel.Ability to utilize hand / eye coordination.Capability to stand for prolonged periods of timeCommunication skills.ABOUT THE KABLE GROUP
