We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and responsible Battery Materials Inventory Engineer to manage the intake, inspection, identification, and inventorying of incoming battery materials at our facility. This role requires a foundational understanding of battery component types (e.g., cathode powder, anode, foil, film, scrap), along with warehouse operations experience. The ideal candidate will ensure materials are properly labeled, tracked, and stored to support our Technology and Quality Team, while maintaining high standards for traceability and cleanliness. This quality role will partner with Technology and Operations functions in the organization to ensure that our processes :
- Meet Customer Requirements,
- Improve Material Trackability,
- Report Battery Material Data Accurately.
This role serves as the champion for defining and promoting a quality mindset across the organization, aligning customer needs with company goals, measuring performance using data-driven insights to drive improvement, and implementing best practices and quality standards that support our winning aspiration to be the most complete battery solution partner in the world.
Duties and Responsibilities
Inspect incoming battery materials to verify type and condition (cathode powder, anode, foil, film, scrap, etc.)Accurately identify, label, and classify materials upon arrivalMaintain real-time tracking using inventory software and barcode systemsEnsure proper storage and handling of sensitive materials to prevent contamination or degradationOperate a forklift or pallet jack to move and organize materials in warehouse and staging areasDocument discrepancies or damages and coordinate with the Technology and Quality Team for resolutionCommunicate clearly with engineers, scientists, and quality control staff to ensure material traceability and usabilitySupport periodic inventory audits and cycle countsAdhere to all safety protocols, handling guidelines, and material labeling standardsMaintain clean, organized workspaces in accordance with 5S or lean warehouse practicesExecute with the Quality Team's "culture of quality" including :Quality Management (Performance Focus)
Quality Assurance and Planning (Process Focus)Quality Control (Product Focus)Quality Engineering (Improvement Focus)Monitor and adhere to quality standards that are most critical for governing how Cirba Solutions does business. Such standards may include, but are not limited to :ISO 9001, ISO 9004, ISO 19011, IATF 16949, and ISO 14001.Coordinate and collaborate with the Quality Control organization including analytical laboratories, testing / inspection requirements, and analytical / sampling methods and procedures.Serve as the champion to align customer needs with the organizational goals of Cirba Solutions.Partner closely with the Commercial and Technology teams regarding customer requirements (including inbound and off-take partners).Partner closely with the Procurement and Technology teams regarding inbound materials specifications and supplier quality agreements.Provide needed collaboration with ESG, HSE, and Marketing / Communications teams regarding environmental management systems and corporate stewardship requirements.Develop and support the policies and reporting systems for handling customer complaints and non-conforming product.Support the quality-related reporting requirements and participate in the development and roll-out of the Quality Notification system as it relates to Quality.Collaborate with the organization in the standardization of root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques to address quality issues and drive continual improvement.Work collaboratively to influence decisions beyond department lines.Exhibit sound judgment and escalate problems quickly for resolution.Qualifications
Qualifications :
Minimum 3 years experience in engineering role, warehouse, materials handling, or manufacturing environment (battery or chemical industry preferred)Familiarity with battery materials or industrial chemicals strongly preferredDemonstrated attention to detail and ability to manage precise labeling and categorizationDemonstrated safety track recordForklift certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of employmentExperience with inventory tracking software (ERP or warehouse management system)Strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently in a salary-based, performance-driven rolePrepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing dataPerform sampling as needed on inbound / outbound battery materialsPreferred Qualifications :
Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering or plant experienceBasic understanding of battery chemistry or materials sciencePrior work in cleanroom or controlled environmentExperience supporting R&D, pilot production, or quality controlStrong documentation and communication skills, both written and verbalExcellent organization, comfortable working independently, and strong attention to detailParticipate in establishing quality parameters and systemsParticipate in vendor, customer, and internal auditsRespond to customer quality inquiries and feedbackDevelop and update quality system inspection proceduresWill ingness to contribute at all levels of the organization and teamFamiliarity with industry quality standards, tools, and systemsOther duties as assignedCore Competencies :
