We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm / Security / Access Control Technician with a valid CA Blue Card to join our team. This role involves traveling to various project sites to install, service, and maintain fire alarm, security, and access control systems. Candidates should be comfortable working on long-term projects, collaborating with field teams, and ensuring all work meets industry and code standards.

Key Responsibilities

Install, program, test, and service fire alarm, security, and access control systems

Travel to project sites as required, including overnight stays

Run, terminate, and dress low-voltage cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber, etc.)

Interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents to complete installations

Ensure compliance with NFPA, NEC, State, and local codes

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair system issues to maintain optimal performance

Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and customers on-site

Maintain accurate documentation of installations, inspections, and service calls

Train and mentor junior technicians when required

Adhere to safety protocols and ensure all work is completed efficiently and professionally

Requirements

CA Blue Card required

3+ years of experience in fire alarm, security, or access control systems

Strong understanding of NFPA codes, NEC, and general life safety requirements

Ability to travel frequently and work flexible schedules (days, nights, weekends, overtime as needed)

Proficient in reading and interpreting schematics, blueprints, and system drawings

Experience with conduit installation, wiring methods, and low-voltage terminations

Familiarity with systems such as Honeywell, Notifier, Siemens, EST, Bosch, Lenel, or similar is a plus

Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently or in a team

Valid drivers license and clean driving record

Excellent communication and customer service skills
