About The Position

Job Title : RN Clinical Nurse Emergency Department

Hours per Shift : 6 : 45 PM - 7 : 15 AM

Experience : Minimum experience required

License : RN - Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - RN - Multi-state Compact

Certifications : BLS - Basic Life Support, ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support, PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support - Preferred

Must-Have : Strong interpersonal skills, ability to function in a fast-paced environment, excellent time management skills, strong critical thinking skills

Description :

The RN Clinical Nurse Emergency Department is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers.

They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized, high-quality, safe patient care.

They practice in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and supported through a Shared Governance Model.

The framework for practice is guided by a Professional Practice Model and evidence-based practice and research.

RN competencies are derived from these models and are supported by core values.

All RN Clinical Nurses in Emergency Services are required to be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Professional Nurse Practice Act.

They implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards set forth by a professional nursing association.

As members of the patient services team, individuals are expected to uphold patient voices, system policies, and service excellence goals.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions :

They perform the Nursing Process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical care.

They use evidence-based practice and analytical thinking to ensure care is individualized.

They coordinate care through effective partnerships, recognizing that caring is central to achieving optimal patient care outcomes.

They provide relationship-based, patient-centered care that reflects an understanding of cultural diversity.

They partner with patients and significant others, keeping them updated and making patient goals the focus of care plans.

They practice using current clinical standards and document the delivery of safe, quality patient care.

Teamwork and Collaboration :

They coordinate the interdisciplinary communication methods to promote a respectful, inclusive clinical environment.

They demonstrate teamwork by practicing in a fiscally responsible manner and support the recruitment and retention of healthcare team members.

They participate in performance improvement activities and support interdisciplinary processes to promote safe, quality patient care.

Professional Development and Initiative :

They complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and required education.

They serve as preceptors and / or mentors for other professional nurses to ensure a qualified workforce.

Evidence-Based Practice and Research :

They promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement in nursing.

They uphold all organizational policies and procedures and participate in data collection relevant to evidence-based practice.

Resources and Support :

They proactively plan for the care of patients in the course of giving direct patient care.

They participate in the development of protocols and support the efficient use of human and material resources.

They perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies, standards, and codes of conduct.
