  • \nminimum of 1 year of hospital pharmacy practice experience (full

    \ntime). If less than full time, will consider with additional years of

  • Independent in at least one institutional
  • \nelectronic medical record and pharmacy information system, preferred

    \nexperience with more than one electronic medical record and pharmacy

    \ninformation system.

  • Required experience with hospital pharmacy
  • \nautomated dispensing machines; preferred experience with Pyxis ES.

    \n

    \n

  • Preferred experience with regulatory compliance
  • \noversight with a background in audits, policies, and staff oversight.

  • Provides administrative
  • \nleadership for daily pharmacy operations.

  • Identifies
  • \npolicy / procedure gaps and collaborates with Pharmacy Operations to

    \nresolve.

  • Ensures
  • \ncompliance with all applicable regulatory and accreditation standards

    \n(JC, CIHQ, CMS, DEA, State Board of Pharmacy).

  • Implement
  • \nnew services, procedures, and pharmacy automation as required.

    \n

    \n

  • Leads
  • \ndepartmental Performance Improvement Programs.

    \n

    \n

  • Manage
  • \npharmacy staff including hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and

    \nperformance evaluations.

    \n

  • Develops
  • \nand maintains technician and pharmacist schedules.

  • Adjusts
  • \nstaffing plans based on patient acuity and census.

    \n

  • Oversees
  • \npurchasing and inventory management to ensure safe and cost-effective

    \nuse of medications. Complete hospital medication inventory(ies) as

    \nrequired.

  • Accurately
  • \nverifies and dispenses medication orders; oversees and approves

    \ntechnician work.

    \n

    \n

  • Monitors
  • \nand evaluates all six critical processes of medication management to

    \nidentify and mitigate risks.

  • Actively
  • \nparticipates with physicians and clinical staff in quality and

    \nperformance improvement initiatives.

  • Provides
  • \nclinical pharmacy services, including anticoagulant monitoring, therapy

    \noptimization, and evidence-based drug utilization protocols.

  • \nphysicians, nurses, and staff with timely and accurate drug information.
