Active Respiratory Therapist license and 2+ years of in-patient hospital Respiratory Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A healthcare facility in Des Moines, IA is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to provide specialized respiratory care to patients. This contract position is ideal for candidates with a passion for improving respiratory health and delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assess and treat patients with various respiratory conditions.
  • Administer respiratory therapy treatments, such as oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and ventilation support.
  • Monitor patients' respiratory status and adjust treatments as necessary.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions and proper use of respiratory equipment.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records.

Qualifications / Desired Experience :

  • Current certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
  • Proven experience in respiratory therapy within an acute care or hospital setting.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Good munication skills and a passionate approach to patient care.
  • Licensure as required by the state of Iowa.
