The Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. Delivers quality professional services with emphasis on the guest's total look. Supports the Experience Manager (EM) and the Assistant Services Manager (ASM) through a focus on performance (service sales and productivity), people (guest service), and process (operating procedures and compliance standards). This position requires a passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and the ability to learn and communicate product knowledge.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Perform hair services including design, haircuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable).
- Meet or exceed sales goals and productivity targets for hair services; contribute to store goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink as set by Ulta Beauty.
- Demonstrate business acumen with understanding of business drivers and opportunities for growth.
- Perform product demonstrations with guests to drive sales and enhance the guest service experience.
- Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives that deliver an unrivaled guest experience.
- Stay informed on new and existing industry trends, products, and services; be knowledgeable about ingredients and benefits to better serve guests.
- Maintain prompt, regular attendance.
People
Develop guest relationships through consultations and appropriate retail and service recommendations.Demonstrate high standards of customer service and salon image standards.Serve all guests, including walk-in guests, in a timely and efficient manner.Collaborate with skin therapists and the retail team to provide a total-store guest experience.Establish professional peer and brand partner relationships to deliver exceptional guest service.Explain guest loyalty benefits, including credit and Ulta Beauty app, to guests in the salon and on the sales floor.Attend mandatory trainings and meetings for continuous professional development.Process
Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards.Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures; comply with state board guidelines.Follow service protocols to ensure a consistent and exceptional guest experience.Utilize booking and clientele systems to schedule return services and events.Communicate supply needs to the EM to ensure guest readiness.Maintain store operational standards, including cleanliness of the salon, salesfloor, restrooms, backroom, break area, and other areas.Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code.Protect company assets by following loss prevention practices and providing exceptional guest service.Execute other operational tasks as directed.Job Qualifications

Cosmetology licenseExperience
Previous relevant salon experience is preferred.Skills
Proficiency with latest salon techniques for haircutting, color, styling, texture, treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing (where applicable) or aptitude to develop skills in all service categories.Proficiency with equipment and chemicals used in technical work.Proficiency to demonstrate, recommend, and sell professional hair care and makeup products.Strong communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and clientele.Special Position Requirements

The pay range for this position is $18.00 per hour with potential to earn services pay under the Company's Services Compensation Plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, and location. Eligible associates may also earn overtime pay and tips. Full-time positions include paid time off and health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits. Part-time positions include dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
