Job Description :

As a Technical Assembler , you will man one of the final steps of our production process, preparing our product for final assembly and ensuring it meets the highest standards before final shipment to the customer. As a technical assembler you are detail oriented, great with your hands, and are eager to learn something new every day. You are also a subject matter expert on the assembly of your product. You are able to effectively train other team members on assembly processes.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Follow detailed verbal / written assembly instructions, processes, and procedures.
  • Read and understand customer work orders and assembly instructions - blueprints, technical drawings, etc.
  • Dismantling, assembling, and painting valves and bolts, welds, rivets, or other fastens by using hand tools and power tools.
  • Operate presses, drills, saws, lifts, and control equipment efficiently and safely.
  • Perform quality control checks and verification of work order specifications.
  • Properly fill out basic forms, reports, and label products correctly.
  • Perform motor wiring and interpret wiring diagrams (e.g., Pratt systems)
  • May provide hands on and verbal job function training to coworkers on product assembly processes as needed.
  • Independently troubleshoot a wide range of product issues across multiple departments
  • Apply strong problem-solving skills in daily tasks by demonstrating in-depth technical knowledge of products and systems
  • Read and interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Understand product applications in the field and apply customer and regulatory requirements to assembly and testing
  • Serve as a temporary team lead when needed by coordinating technical projects
  • Conduct advanced quality inspections and testing (ISO knowledge preferred)
  • Drive and implement process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Apply knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques
  • Exhibit initiative, adaptability, and a proactive approach to achieving team goals
  • Report problems with quality, processes, equipment, and materials to Production Supervisor
  • Safely operate power lift trucks (PIT), hand trucks, dollies, overhead cranes, and other rigging devices, ensuring that pedestrians and contractors are safely distanced during operation.
  • Maintain continuity among work shifts in pass-off procedure by documenting actions, irregularities, and continuing operational needs, as well as communicating issues or irregularities to appropriate team lead or supervisor.
  • Keep work areas and department clean and organized.
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to all relevant safety guidelines, procedures, and regulations and flagging any equipment or safety issues to the appropriate team lead, supervisor, maintenance, or EHS personnel utilizing "Stop, Call, Wait" procedure.
  • Perform any other related duties as directed.

Required Skills :

  • Ability to provide coaching and training to others at varying experience and skill levels.
  • Strong personal commitment to safety standards in industrial and / or manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Familiarity with basic tools of measuring and when to use for inspection of part.
  • Must be organized and detail oriented.
  • Required Education / Experience :

  • Must have high school diploma / GED or equivalent work experience.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing or warehouse setting.
  • Holds a valid driver's license.
  • Preferred :

  • 3-5 years assembly / fabrication experience.
  • Provide Technical Input across multiple value streams
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including, but not limited to, safety glasses, steel-toed or metatarsal-guarded shoes, and / or ear plugs, while working in an industrial and / or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to use hands to handle, feel, or manipulate objects with fingers.
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, and reach within hands and / or arm's length.
  • Ability to frequently stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Ability to frequently reach overhead or at or below shoulder level.
  • Ability to ascend or descend ladders or steps, as required.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects between 25 and 50 pounds in weight in all directions.
  • Ability to remain in stationary or standing position for prolonged periods and to alternate between positions as necessary.
  • Ability to repeat gross or fine manipulation that may include the use of wrists, hands, and / or fingers.
  • Ability to perform close visual inspections of products, which may include specific vision requirements.
  • Ability to work in an open warehouse environment, subject to seasonal weather (hot / cold).
  • Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and other similar and advanced industrial equipment and tools.
  • Ability to safely operate standing and sit-down power industrial trucks (PIT), and other similar and advanced industrial equipment. Operation may include operating equipment at heights.
  • Ability to clearly see pedestrians and objects, which may include specific vision requirements.
