Facilities Job Opportunity

Under general supervision the custodial duties include, but are not limited to : regular cleaning of facilities for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe, and attractive environment; moves janitorial equipment, furniture and other building items as necessary; performs cleaning duties such as changing light bulbs, replacing ceiling tiles, etc. at heights of up to 12 feet using a ladder; arranges school furnishings and equipment in order to provide adequate preparation for meetings, classroom activities, and special events; maintain and restock janitorial supplies as needed; perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION : Applicants will be required to obtain an American Sign Language Proficiency Instrument (ASLPI) rating of 2 or above within three years from date of hire.

Preferred Qualifications :

• High School Diploma or equivalent or 1 year of experience in housekeeping
• Strong communication skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
• Familiar with OSHA and other health and safety regulations related to cleaning supplies, chemicals, and housekeeping
• Professional experience in stripping and refinishing tile floors
• ASL proficiency at 2+ or above as measured by the American Sign Language Proficiency Interview (ASLPI)
