Job Summary :
This position has primary responsibilities for the delivery of dental services to the Community Health Center of Central Wyoming (CHCCW) population with a special emphasis to those who otherwise lack access to such care. Consultative and educational services to other CHCCW professional staff is another facet of responsibilities. The dentist will participate in the delivery of screening and prevention activities, treatment, and educational functions.
Essential Functions :
Employee performs all duties in contractual agreement with a generally accepted standard of care for the medical / dental profession and specialty in the State of WyomingPerform complete dental examinations and evaluate x-rays to determine the general health of patientsDiagnose and treat patients without giving assurances outside of scope of practiceDevelop treatment plan(s) to repair any dental health issues and / or concernsProvide services such as filling cavities, root canals, applying crowns, installing bridges and implants to fix broken and missing teeth, and extractionsProvide cosmetic services such as teeth whitening, and resin restorationsProvide complete, partial, and implant dentures, periodontal therapy, and sealantsPrepare, handle, and sign patient records / charts, and reports on all services rendered within (72) hours of date of serviceProvide referrals for patients when treatment plan exceeds ability / scope of practiceConsult with CHCCW Medical / Behavioral Health staff regarding patient care as it relates to prevention, screening, and interrelationships between oral and other CHCCW servicesCommunicate patient need(s) with patient support staff, case manager, and / or financial specialist to assist with community resourcesMinimum Qualifications
DMD or DDS in General Dentistry from an accredited institution with appropriate academic emphasisLicensed or license-eligible in Wyoming is requiredPost-doctoral residency training in general or specialty dentistry is desirableMust be current with BLS / CPR certification
