Overview
Radar System Engineer (Expert) role at Boeing Company. This position is located in Tukwila, Washington and involves leading advanced RF / Radar theory, digital signal processing, and radar system development efforts as part of the Boeing Defense Team.
Position Responsibilities
- Lead critical technical development efforts as a senior subject matter expert on RF / Radar theory, digital signal processing, and radar concepts.
- Define system performance requirements and ensure interface definitions support various functional components of the seeker"s and missile"s architecture.
- Conduct analyses to optimize total system-of-systems performance or system architecture related to algorithmic functionality for acquisition and tracking of targets.
- Analyze data to identify improvement areas and guide recommendations for system robustness in challenging operational environments.
- Develop and validate requirements for complex communication, sensor, electronic warfare, and other electromagnetic systems and components.
- Develop and validate requirements for electrical / electronic systems, mechanical systems, interconnects, and structures.
- Develop architectures to integrate complex systems and components into higher level systems and platforms.
- Perform trade studies, modeling, simulation, and other analyses to predict performance and optimize design around requirements.
- Define and conduct critical tests to validate performance against requirements.
- Manage supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Provide lifecycle support to products from manufacturing to customer use by guiding resolution of complex issues.
- Support project management with work statements, budgets, schedules, and reviews.
- Contribute to major sections of proposals to support new business development.
- Work under minimal direction.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science from an accredited program.15+ years of experience in avionics integration and / or electronics systems and / or RF systems.Experience working with suppliers and with internal and external customers and suppliers.Strong collaboration and coordination skills.5+ years of experience working in cross-functional or cross-organizational teams to develop and implement plans, schedules, or solutions.Preferred Qualifications (Desirable)
Experience as an equipment manager for military or civil aerospace electronics / avionics systems including equipment qualification and testing.Experience with Radar systems (RF or EO) or Radar integration.Active Top Secret clearance.Experience dealing directly with USG and DoD customers and regulators.Experience eliciting, writing, managing and verifying requirements.Additional Information
