Job Summary
This position is responsible for answering calls for services and dispatching appropriate personnel, emergency responders, completing administrative duties, and providing security related services to the campus community. This is a full time position working primarily 3rd shift 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. Employees may be asked to work other shifts as needed to support business operations.

Performs dispatch duties. - 65%
Monitors radio traffic and dispatches officers to emergency and non-emergency calls.Answers public safety phone lines, including landlines and cell phone.Enters calls into computer-aided dispatch system CAD system, collects all information pertaining to calls to provide information to officers.Responds to walk in questions.Monitors Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) and uses GCIC to check driver's license information, vehicle registration, criminal histories, driver's history, outstanding warrants.Monitors Blackboard door access which includes monitoring doors and granting / denying access to individuals.Monitors camera systems for potential criminal activity.Monitors weather by radar and local news; keeps officers updated on severe weather.Disseminates incident and accident reports upon request.Contacts Whitfield County 911 to request assistance from outside agencies.Contacts local fire department, EMS, and law enforcement to notify them of off-campus incidents.Monitors fire alarm system and dispatches law enforcement and fire department as needed.Utilizes Automated Issuance Management System (AIMS); reviews parking tickets and registrations, enters information as needed.Prints and redacts reports as requested from ARMS.Utilizes Rave mass notification system to send text, voice, and email alerts to campus.Assists with fleet vehicle management.Performs administrative duties - 25%
Creates documents and reviews reports for the Director.Manages bloodborne pathogens training for the campus.Manages Minors on Campus Program.Manages approved drivers program : receives required forms, processes forms, obtains driver's MVR, updates approved driver listing.Assists with weekly / monthly emergency eyewash and shower inspections.Assists with checking emergency phones and public address system on campus monthly.Prints and files all Public Safety related reports in appropriate location.Requests and files campus vehicle mileage sheets.USG liaison for the Right to Know program.Manages USG `Report My Driving' program.Performs security officer duties as required - 5%
Unlocks and locks doors, boosts vehicles, patrols campus to identify safety and security concerns and criminal actions, reports criminal issues to certified law enforcement officer on duty or local police, reports other concerns to respective entity responsible.Performs related duties - 5%
Serves as a CPR / AED instructor for Public Safety Department and campus community as requested.Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.Possession of or ability to readily obtain GCIC / NCIC terminal operator certification within first 6 months.Possession of or ability to readily obtain Basic Communications Officer Training Program (Georgia POST) within first 6 months.Other Required Qualifications
