About Us
The Black Tie Society (BTS) of Washington, D.C. is a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to mentorship, empowerment, and community advancement. Through cultural, educational, and fundraising events, we support initiatives in financial literacy, youth development, entrepreneurship, and social impact.
We are looking for a talented and mission-driven Web Developer to help us grow our online presence and ensure our digital platforms reflect the professionalism and vision of our organization.
Volunteer Role : Web Developer
As a volunteer Web Developer, you will play a critical role in enhancing BTS’s online visibility. You’ll work directly with leadership to improve the functionality, design, and user experience of our website, ensuring it serves as an effective hub for membership growth, event promotion, donations, and community engagement.
Responsibilities
Maintain, update, and improve the BTS website.
Create user-friendly pages for membership sign-ups, event RSVPs, and donations.
Ensure the site is mobile-friendly, secure, and optimized for performance.
Collaborate with BTS leadership to design and integrate new features.
Provide technical guidance on digital tools, plugins, and integrations.
Assist with branding consistency across digital platforms.
Qualifications
Experience with WordPress, Squarespace, or similar CMS platforms.
Understanding of website optimization, SEO, and user experience best practices.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
Strong design sensibility and attention to detail.
Passion for community impact and nonprofit work.
