Manager Inpatient Services
In addition to providing direct patient care to optimize a patient’s ability to perform activities of daily living, the manager supervises the activities of the Physical, Occupational and / or Speech Therapists and Audiologists (as appropriate) ensuring that all services are provided in accordance with hospital and outside regulatory agency standards. They assist with policy and procedure development, long and short term planning and performance improvement, and resource and fiscal management. They provide leadership to the staff, promote clinical competence and are responsible for overseeing and providing education opportunities to the department. Direct patient care will constitute 50-75% of total scheduled time with 25-50% dedicated to administrative duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs Physical / Occupational / Speech Therapy (as per licensure) duties consisting of evaluating and assessing the patient; developing goals and a plan of care; involving the patient / family in the development of these goals : providing treatment to address these goals; completing all required documentation in a timely fashion; and performing re-assessments and discharge summaries as per policy.
Supervises rehabilitation (PT / OT / ST / Audiology) personnel in conjunction with the Director to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of care to customers.
- Maintains updated personnel, mandatory, BLS certification and competency records
- Assists in completing performance evaluations on Rehabilitation Therapists (PT / OT / ST / Audiologists) in a timely manner
- Assists in the counseling of staff and provides additional training as needed
- Delegates tasks and supervises progress towards these tasks
- Troubleshoots problems and offers potential remedies
Assists in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery and efficiency of care being rendered.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE
5 yrs clinical and 2 years supervisory.EDUCATION
PT- Have received an education, including completion of a master's degree or higher in physical therapy or determined to be equivalent, in accordance with the NYS commissioner’s regulationsOT- Have satisfactorily completed an approved occupational therapy curriculum in a baccalaureate or masters program, or a certificate program satisfactory to the NYS education department which is substantially equivalent to a baccalaureate degree program, in accordance with the NYS commissioner's regulationsST- Obtained at least a Masters degree in speech-language pathology or its equivalent, as determined by the NYS education department, in accordance with the NYS commissioner's regulations.LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS
