• Certifications Required : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Fingernail policy : Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract Radius Rule : 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and / or Dignity. Will not accept First Time Travelers NO LICENSE OR BACKGROUND HITS Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.
• RN's - Pass / Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated
• of Beds : 18 - Nurse : Patient Ratios : 1 : 1-2 ICU, 1 : 4 PCU - Common diagnoses / Types of patients : Adults and Peds >

15 years old. Various Trauma injuries (only level 1 trauma center for the system, take in a lot of transfers and / or ED admits), Sepsis, stroke, ARDS, MODS, COPD, cardiac arrest. CVPs, IABP and Impella-core staff will take if no exp; Alines, Swans, EV-1000, ICP monitoring- all can train real time. Zoll-Thermoguard for hypothermia protocol, Bell Mont rapid transfuse - Are RNs required to titrate drips? : Yes - Common titratable & / or set rate drips : Vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, antiarrhythmics - Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? : Yes - Are there nurse aids / patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties? : Yes- 1 : 18 - RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot? : Nasal cannula to vents - Are there Tele / Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? : No techs- Draeger heart monitoring with centralized telemetry monitoring. RNs need to be able to read and interpret - Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) : 0630-1830, 1830-0630 / / self-scheduling, managed by manager based on unit needs - Weekend Requirements : 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period - Floating Requirements : All over to the inpatient units, excluding Maternity / NICU - Scrub Color / Dress Code : Navy Blue - How many shifts of unit / department specific orientation? : 2 shifts - Additional Notes : Fast paced unit with critically ill patients.
