Responsibilities
In addition to teaching two courses per semester, the Director of Live Event Production and Instruction will serve as unit head and oversee live event production operations within the College of Communication and Information, including planning and budgeting, client proposals and contracts, facility operations and management, and personnel and production supervision. The position reports directly to the Dean of the College of Communication and Information.
Other responsibilities include :
- Collaborate with internal and external clients, University leadership and personnel, students, freelancers, and vendors, to develop and deliver live content for in-venue, broadcast, and streaming platforms.
- Serve as a specialized instructor in the Florida State University College of Communication and Information who will teach Multiple Camera Studio Production and Video Workshop courses, and possibly other courses in related areas.
- Manage and maintain equipment and facilities used for live event production.
- Engage in professional development, including staying current with industry trends and advancements in live event production.
- Participate in Department, College, University, and community service activities as needed.
- Coordinate and conduct an annual evaluation of the Live Event Production Unit in conjunction with the Dean of the College of Communication and Information and other senior leadership.
Qualifications
Academic master's degree or highest-level terminal degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience.
