Job Title : Physical Therapist

License : Must hold an active Physical Therapist license or plan to obtain one in the near future in the state of practice.

Job Description :

• Implement patient rehabilitation programs to improve mobility, function, and strength.
• Maintain and update physical therapy skills and certifications as necessary.
• Evaluate and treat patients for physical therapy and rehabilitation programs.
• Utilize electronic medical records to complete evaluations, reports, and discharge summaries for patient files.
• Guide and monitor patient care in all aspects of treatment and follow-up.
• Supervise physical therapy assistants and aides regarding all aspects of patient care.
• Communicate with physicians and other staff to ensure quality patient care.
• Correspond with co-workers and other offices via phone, fax, and email.
• Be responsible for accurate patient chart documentation and follow-up regarding prescriptions, test results, authorizations, etc.
• Ensure patients are comfortable and address their questions when necessary.
• Work closely with front office staff on scheduling and patient follow-up.
• Demonstrate computer skills necessary to complete job requirements, including typing, word processing, internet, and EMR.
• Make independent decisions regarding patient care.
• Engage in business marketing and referral processes when necessary.
• Follow healthcare privacy and security regulations.
• Be familiar with billing policy and procedure regarding various payment sources.
• Be proficient in diagnostic and ICD-10 coding for billing services.
• Be physically mobile for extended periods, including sitting, walking, and standing, based on the patient care schedule.
• Be able to lift 50 pounds and assist in moving patients with mobility constraints.
• Actively participate in privacy training and comply with federal and state regulations.
• Report any privacy concerns to the designated officer without retaliation.

This position is primarily based in an outpatient / rehabilitation setting and does not require travel.
