Project Manager

As a Project Manager, you will make an impact by leading complex initiatives with a strong focus on scope, schedule, risk, and financial management. You will be a valued member of the Delivery Management team and work collaboratively with stakeholders across business and technology functions to ensure successful project execution.

In this role, you will :

  • Define and manage detailed project scope, deliverables, goals, and objectives in alignment with business strategy.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using tools like Gantt charts and CPM, ensuring realistic timelines and resource allocation.
  • Lead financial planning and tracking, including budget creation, cost baseline management, and variance reporting.
  • Identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring proactive issue resolution.
  • Engage stakeholders at all levels to gather requirements, validate scope, and maintain alignment with business objectives.

Based on this role's business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Chicago, IL.

What you need to have to be considered :

  • Proven experience in project management with hands-on expertise in scope, schedule, cost, risk, and stakeholder management.
  • Strong proficiency in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across flexible time zones.
  • Experience in developing Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and managing scope validation and change control processes.
  • Ability to forecast and manage budgets, track expenditures, and report financial status to stakeholders.
  • These will help you stand out :

  • PMP or equivalent project management certification.
  • Experience managing large-scale, cross-functional projects in a consulting or technology services environment.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as MS Project, JIRA, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
  • Ability to influence and drive decision-making across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Salary and Other Compensation :

    Applications will be accepted until October 27th, 2025.

    The annual salary for this position is between $75,000 - $130,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

    This position is also eligible for Cognizants discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizants applicable plans.
