JOB TITLE : Business Development Specialist

REPORTS TO : Sales Manager

PRIMARY FUNCTION : The Business Development Specialist will identify new business opportunities through research and analysis of markets, build strong relationships with potential clients, and help expand Ahaus’ market presence in various sectors. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, a passion for driving growth, and experience developing business across multiple industries.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities through market research, networking, trade shows, and outbound outreach.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to inform business strategies.
  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of leads via cold calls, emails, LinkedIn, and other prospecting methods.
  • Build and nurture relationships with prospects and partners to drive long-term growth.
  • Present qualified leads to the sales team and facilitate an introduction and hand-off of opportunities.
  • Track and report on key metrics including outreach activity, conversion rates, and revenue generated.

Requirements :

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, Communications, Data / Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role using strong analytical and research skills.
  • Strong manufacturing and / or automation experience.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding performance targets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
  • Comfortable with CRM software and lead generation tools.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Having an established network of contacts is a plus.
  • Hungry, competitive, driven to be successful.
  • Very responsive to stakeholder needs with quick and thorough follow-up.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS :

  • Typical business office environment
  • Typical non-production, light manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to noise, dust, debris, and chemicals
  • May be required to travel to customer facilities
  • May be required to climb stairs and ladders
  • May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
