Aeon for Ocean (AFO), a 501 (c)(3), Our mission is to educate and increase awareness about ocean conservation and marine life amongst kids and their greater role in spreading the message to drive action. We are looking for someone to help support and expand our community engagement.
Job Description
This position is responsible for the design of web communications, including emails, websites, copyediting and proofreading all web content, and other various tasks as required. May need to coordinate and verify accuracy and completeness of promotions, advertised specials and other digital content that is published through the company's multiple digital platforms including websites and email-marketing channels, social media channels etc.
Responsibility
Create website layout / user interface by using standard HTML / CSS practices
Integrate data from various back-end services and databases
Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our site
Manage, optimize and maintain the organization’s website by improving its performance and security.
Boost website traffic and ensure that it’s highly ranked in search engines by implementing SEO and data analytic strategies. Track the number of visits to the site to ensure they are successful.
Website coding. Add new content and features. Improving navigation through the adjustment of JavaScript, CSS, and HTML; Creating the animation, video, and podcasts
Skills Required
Knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, Wordpress, HTML, video and podcast editing tools
Qualifications
Web development (Web User Interface Design (UI), Security Principles, Object-Oriented Design, Web Services, Multimedia Content Development, API's)
Experience designing responsive websites
Experience in e-commerce, mobile web and database design
Experience in Google Analytics, Google AdWords and Google Tag Manager
Understanding of WordPress and its plug-ins installations.
JavaScript, CSS, HTML, PHP, MySQL
1-3 years of professional digital design experience
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and / or Canva
Detail oriented, self-motivated and can manage your own workload
Enthusiastic, respectful, and collaborative work ethic and an effective communicator
