We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer (Aerospace) to join our team.

This role will involve designing, developing, and validating embedded software for avionics and safety-critical aerospace systems . The ideal candidate will have experience in embedded software design, motor control algorithms, RTOS, and compliance with DO-178C standards , and a passion for aerospace innovation and flight safety .

Job Title : Embedded Software Engineer (Aerospace)

Location : Elyria, OH ( 100% On-site )

Duration : 6+ Months (Contract)

Eligibility : ITAR Requirement U.S. Citizens and Green Card Holders only (U.S. Citizens preferred)

Job Description :

Trilyon is looking for a skilled Embedded Software Engineer (Aerospace) to contribute to the development of high-performance embedded systems for avionics applications. The Embedded Software Engineer (Aerospace) will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure software meets stringent aerospace compliance and safety standards. This position requires hands-on expertise in embedded C / C++ programming, RTOS development, and familiarity with power electronics and motor control systems.

Key Responsibilities :

Design and develop embedded software for avionics systems in compliance with DO-178C standards.

Create detailed software design specifications and perform requirements traceability .

Implement software components in Embedded C / C++ , perform unit testing, and static code analysis.

Collaborate with system and hardware teams to define software interfaces and integration strategies.

Work on motor control drive software architecture , focusing on field-oriented control (FOC) for BLDC motors.

Conduct integration, debugging, and verification on target hardware and simulation environments.

Participate in peer reviews, inspections, and process improvement initiatives .

Prepare documentation for certification including design, traceability, and test artifacts.

Engage with customer engineering teams to ensure project deliverables and milestones are achieved.

Ensure software meets performance, reliability, and safety goals throughout the development lifecycle.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics or Communication Engineering .

8+ years of experience in embedded software design and development for avionics or safety-critical systems .

Proficiency in Embedded C / C++ , RTOS (e.g., VxWorks) , and BSP / Device driver / HAL development .

Strong understanding of DO-178C, DAL A / B / C processes and documentation lifecycle.

Experience with tools such as DOORS, Integrity , and other configuration management systems.

Knowledge of Power Electronics, motor controller drive software , and digital communication protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C) .

Familiarity with MIL-STDs, ARINC 429, AFDX communication protocols.

Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Aerospace experience is mandatory .

Preferred Skills :

Experience in motor control algorithms (FOC) and hardware-software integration.

Exposure to software verification and validation under aerospace compliance frameworks.

Prior work experience in Aerospace, Automotive, or Industrial embedded domains.
