Travel Nurse Job Details

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Contract

End Date : January 30, 2026

Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Shifts : Night shifts, 12 hours (19 : 00 - 07 : 30); options for 3x12s (with call) or 4x12s per week

Guaranteed Hours : Yes

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1990 - $2130

Patient Ratios : 1-2 patients per nurse

Unit : Labor & Delivery (WP 4 L&D)

Scrubs : Provided

Charting System : Epic EMR

Parking : On-site, $125 / month

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent high-risk Labor & Delivery RN experience (1.5 years accepted with Level I Trauma or travel nurse experience)

Active Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending accepted, must be active before start)

BLS and NRP certifications required

AWHONN certification (Beginner required; Advanced preferred)

EPIC charting experience required

Level I Trauma Center experience preferred

Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

Willingness to work every other weekend and take on-call shifts (16 hours per 6-week schedule block)

1 professional reference required

Not accepting local candidates (must live more than 75 miles from facility)

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive care to laboring mothers and newborns in a high-volume, high-acuity Labor & Delivery unit (400-500 deliveries / month)

Assist with high-risk deliveries, cesarean sections, and multiple births

Administer medications and therapies including magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives, and insulin drips

Perform and interpret fetal monitoring (EFM, IUPC, NST)

Support breastfeeding, lactation, and provide couplet care

Respond to obstetric and neonatal emergencies, including cardiac and neonatal resuscitation

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services

Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR

Participate in orientation and complete required modules prior to start
