Qualifications :
� Valid TN teaching certificate or have ability to obtain a teaching permit(enrolled in job
embedded program)
� Strong knowledge of Math, ELA and Reading
� General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
� Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
� Strong communications, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Job Overview : The job of Interventionist is done for the purpose / s of improving student success in
academics and behavior; adapting classroom activities, assignments and / or materials; implementing
lesson plans; assisting students in achievement of learning outcomes; ensuring compliance of
programmatic activities; monitoring and assessing student progress; and reporting student learning
outcomes (SLO's) to supervising teacher.
Job Functions :
� Disaggregate, organize and analyze data
� Responds to data with strategies, instructional methodology and interventions
� Works with students and coaches & mentors teachers to ensure appropriate interventions
� Develops & implements ILP-D's
� Attend meetings and in-service presentations (e.g. workshops, division meetings, etc.) for acquiring and conveying information relative to instructional and behavioral support functions.
� Maintain instructional areas (e.g. computer equipment, classroom configuration, etc.) for ensuring availability of items providing learning materials, providing a safe learning environment, and meeting mandated requirements.
� Perform a variety of academic / learning support processes (e.g. tracking assignments completion and recording attendance, tutoring, etc.) for provided necessary assistance for individual learning.
� Provide instructional and behavioral support in an intervention room setting (e.g. guiding students through academic / learning processes, reviewing and assessing completion of assignments, administering and proctoring tests, providing feed-back, recommending study and testing strategies, answering questions, etc.) for implementing study, testing, critical thinking, and student learning strategies for improving academic and behavioral success.
� Respond to inquiries from a variety of people (e.g. students, instructors, administrators, etc.) for providing necessary information for referral and solving problems.
� Supervise individual and groups of students in a variety of settings (e.g. intervention rooms, work / instructional rooms, etc.) for maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.
� Performs other related duties as assigned for ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
