This position is responsible for the completion of regular quality reviews of county SNAP eligibility determinations, monitoring quality, accuracy, and compliance through the reviews. Through SNAP case reviews, this position assists with the identification of common trends, strengths, and weaknesses of accuracy and timeliness of county SNAP eligibility determinations to help inform state and county-level corrective action.
The position coordinates internally with other SNAP Team members and with County staff to devise strategies for improving SNAP quality, accuracy, and compliance. The State Of Colorado Position Description 07 / 2025 position provides mentoring and support to the Counties to educate and assist with improving SNAP quality, accuracy, and compliance.

Experience Only :
Six (6) years of relevant experience in SNAP eligibility determination in Colorado (including, in that experience, at least one (1) year of experience navigating the Colorado Benefits Management System [CBMS])
OR
Education and Experience :
A combination of related education with at least two (2) years of experience in SNAP eligibility determination in Colorado (including at least one (1) year of experience navigating CBMS) equal to six (6) years.
Preferred Qualifications :
Strong attention to detail
Strong organizational skills
Familiarity with the general domain of policy and regulatory documents; experience using State and Federal regulations and statutes
Strong reading comprehension (ability to consistently search for, and identify, relevant guidance in policies and regulatory documents)
Demonstrated ability to carefully compare written instructions (e.g. regulatory documents) with outputs (e.g. case outcomes) to determine whether outcomes comply with requirements
Strong written communication skills (sensitively and correctly transmitting details about identified errors to a variety of audiences who will have varying degrees of familiarity with the subject area)
Technical proficiency adequate to independently undertake day-to-day operational tasks (e.g. independently take steps to connect to Internet, launch software, participate in virtual meetings, organize digital files, complete standard business tasks in Microsoft Office products, complete standard business tasks in Google Workspace)
Relevant years of State service should be considered as a preferred qualification to be used to determine the top candidates on the referral list. (Partnership agreement 10.1.)
Conditions of Employment :
Must pass a Name Check Only Background ALL CDHS employees (non-direct contact) : This position will have NO direct contact with vulnerable persons. Name check only includes : CBI check (no fingerprints), Colorado Court Database check, and Medicare Fraud Database
Motor Vehicle Record Check : This position will drive a state-owned vehicle, either in an ongoing capacity while performing their normal day-to-day job duties, OR
on occasion for trainings / meetings / client visits / etc.
This position requires State of Colorado residency at the time of application (unless otherwise identified in the posting), and residency within the state throughout the duration of employment in this position.
