Account Manager ( Local Iowa Representative)
A dedicated Local Iowa Representative to oversee and coordinate the delivery of temporary merit staffing services across the Regent Universities in Iowa. This individual will serve as the single-point contact for all operational matters in Iowa and will be directly responsible for ensuring high-quality candidate placements, compliance with university policies, and seamless day-to-day service delivery to the University of Iowa, Iowa State University, and the University of Northern Iowa.
Key Responsibilities
Account Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the primary liaison between Abacus and university stakeholders including HR departments, department hiring managers, and purchasing officers.
- Attend onsite or virtual meetings as requested by university staff to address service needs, discuss performance, or resolve issues.
- Provide a direct line of communication for emergency contact (24 / 7 availability) and ensure response within one hour as per RFP expectations
Service Quality & Risk Management
Manage local quality assurance measures in line with Abacus' safety protocols and the universities' risk mitigation expectations.Address absenteeism or performance issues proactively, arranging replacements as necessary in coordination with campus contacts.Support continuous service improvement by ensuring qualified and experienced workers are matched appropriately to job descriptions, including accounting, custodial, food service, and lab support roles.Qualifications
3+ years of experience in staffing coordination, HR operations, or workforce management; higher education staffing experience preferred.Strong knowledge of Iowa labor laws, HR best practices, and compliance with university-level hiring protocols.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client accounts, deliver high-volume staffing under tight timelines, and maintain service quality.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a professional demeanor suitable for interfacing with university administrators.Proficient with ATS platforms (e.g., JobDiva), MS Office, and reporting tools.Preferred Skills
Familiarity with the University of Iowa, Iowa State University, or University of Northern Iowa HR processes.Experience with temporary labor placement for custodial, clerical, food service, or lab support roles.Background in risk management, safety compliance, and employee relations.Travel Requirement
