Travel Mental Health Tech

Location : Adair, IA

Start : 10 / 13 / 2025 | Duration : 13 Weeks

Shift : Nights | 6 : 30 PM – 7 : 00 AM | 12-hour overnights

Hours / Week : 36 guaranteed | Weekends : Rotating | On Call : None

Facility Overview :

50-bed inpatient substance abuse treatment facility for adults (18+). Facility serves both voluntary and court-ordered patients, with 20 female and 30 male beds. This is a no restraint facility with no floating required .

Requirements :

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience with the facility’s population preferred

Familiarity with psychiatric and dual diagnosis conditions and treatment approaches is a plus

CPR and de-escalation certification required (training provided upon hire)

First aid certification may be required per state or facility guidelines

Key Responsibilities :

Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment for clients

Conduct regular safety checks and monitor client behavior

Assist with client supervision, belongings, and contraband checks

Support clients in achieving treatment goals through engagement and group facilitation

Document observations and client interactions accurately and timely

Apply de-escalation techniques and report significant changes to nursing staff

Assist with unit tasks including admissions, discharges, and incident reporting

Facilitate or support recreational and therapeutic activities

Provide orientation for new clients and encourage program participation

Ensure safety during activities and adapt them to meet client needs
