Quality Inspector – Defense Search

OVERVIEW

  • Experience with Verisurf or equivalent system
  • Experience working with large parts or aerospace industry experience

FULL DESCRIPTION :  The Quality Inspector is responsible for examining materials and fabricated parts for quality, conformance, and defects, ensuring that products meet customer requirements and industry standards. This role includes mechanical inspection using hand tools and laser tracking systems in an industrial machine shop environment. The Inspector will verify dimensional and visual characteristics of incoming, in-process, and final products, and may interface directly with customers and suppliers for verification and approval.

The selected candidate will be responsible for :

  • Independently operate a laser tracker using Spatial Analyzer software in heavy industrial environments.
  • Perform inspections using a variety of measuring tools, including :

    • Calipers, micrometers, gauges (bore, pins), comparator

  • Standard measuring instruments and inspection tools
  • Inspect geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) features, interpret blueprints, and apply color charts / templates to verify part consistency.
  • Conduct :

    • Incoming, in-process, and final inspections

  • Inspection reports (First Article, In-Process, Final)
  • Review of customer PO, drawings, and specifications
  • Prepare customer-required documentation including inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and certification packages.
  • Review and complete paperwork for product acceptance and traceability (AS9102B).
  • Coordinate with customers and suppliers to verify product conformance.
  • Ensure compliance with all QA procedures, company policies, and customer specifications.

    • The selected candidate will also possess :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant quality control or inspection experience in a manufacturing or machine shop setting.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 40 lbs and work extended periods walking, standing, and bending.
  • Proficient in blueprint reading, GD&T interpretation, and use of standard metrology tools.
  • Able to work overtime as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

    • Salary Range : $26-33 / hr
