Assistant Operations Manager – Relocation Available

Join Alter Trading, a leader in metals recycling for over 125 years. We’re hiring an Assistant Operations Manager to support our auto shredder facility in Council Bluffs, IA — just minutes from Omaha, NE. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for those with experience in heavy equipment, industrial operations, or scrap / recycling environments. Relocation assistance available.

Key Responsibilities :

• Support daily facility operations and assist the Facility Manager with compliance, safety, and production goals.
• Analyze operational data to resolve quality or production issues.
• Lead and develop training programs for operational staff.
• Oversee monthly operational budgets and help manage equipment / parts inventory.
• Serve as backup to Facility Manager when needed.
• Ensure product standards meet steel mill requirements and customer expectations.
• Engage with commercial and peddler customers to support business growth.
