Quality Control Manager

Location : 203A Log Canoe Circle, Stevensville, MD 21666-2128

Work Hours : 7 : 30 AM - 4 : 00 PM

Salary or Pay Range : $100,000 to $130,000 / yr

Join our aerospace and defense quality team as a Quality Control Manager , where you'll play a key role in strengthening our inspection and conformance functions. We're looking for a hands-on leader with a passion for excellence and a strong background in quality systems, inspection processes, and team development. In this role, you'll guide a team of quality technicians, ensure all inspection activities meet AS9100 standards, and help drive continuous improvement across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain operations.

What You'll Do : \n

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 4-6 quality technicians, ensuring proper training and competency in GD&T, inspection tools and measurement methods.

  • Establish and improve inspection methods, conformance procedures, and process controls in coordination with Engineering and Operations.
  • \n

  • Oversee daily incoming, in-process, and final inspections to meet AS9100 and customer requirements.
  • \n

  • Implement first-article inspections, sampling plans, and statistical process controls (SPC).
  • \n

  • Support corrective actions for product and manufacturing process nonconformances by providing inspection data, analysis, and recommendations.
  • \n

  • Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to ensure inspection requirements align with design intent.
  • \n

  • Evaluate and improve measurement systems, calibration compliance, and inspection tools.
  • \n

  • Coordinate with Purchasing and Quality Assurance to evaluate supplier quality performance and support vendor qualification through inspection and verification results.
  • \n

  • Monitor and report on key quality metrics (defect rates, inspection throughput, backlog, etc.).
  • \n

  • Develop and enforce standard work instructions for inspection and conformance tasks.
  • \n

  • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • \n \n

    What We're Looking For :

    \n

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • \n

  • 7-10+ years of experience in quality, inspection, or manufacturing leadership (aerospace / defense preferred).
  • \n

  • Deep working knowledge of ISO or AS9100 standards and conformance practices.
  • \n

  • Strong experience with metrology, CMM, SPC, FAI, and measurement system analysis.
  • \n

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and build high-performing teams.
  • \n

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • \n

  • ASQ certifications (CQE, CMQ / OE) strongly preferred.
