This medical center is a Level 2 trauma facility providing comprehensive cardiovascular care to the Upper Peninsula region. The facility features a 10-bed cardiology department with a collaborative team of physicians and advanced practice providers delivering high-quality patient care.

Board Certified - Interventional Cardiology

Job Details :

• Coverage dates : 11 / 24(8a)-12 / 1(8a) and 12 / 22(8a)-12 / 29(8a) with potential for ongoing assignments
• STEMI coverage - MUST have MI license and clean background to get Emergency Privileges
• Work with a team of 2-3 APPs managing typically around 15 patients on service
• Function primarily as consultants with hospitalist service typically being the admitting service
• Regular hours are 8 : 00 am - 5 : 00 pm, with potential to run 8-9 hours depending on service volume
• Day begins with "table top" rounding with the APP team and dividing pending consults
• Physically round on patients requiring physician evaluation
• APPs handle most documentation including H&Ps, consult notes, progress notes, discharge summaries and orders
• Night call from 5 : 00 pm until 8 : 00 am the following day according to schedule
• May occasionally read echocardiograms or nuclear studies, but not the primary role
• TEE capability helpful but not required
• Interventional cardiologists are in-house M-F for procedures and on-call weekends
• Patient volume varies by day
• Nearest airport is Sawyer Regional Airport

• Board certification required with 60-day credentialing timeframe
