As a Kitchen Coordinator for Hamilton Heights, you will spend your days preparing food that nurtures the children in our center.

You will :

  • Prepare a variety of food that is nutritious and delicious.
  • Maintain a spotlessly clean and organized kitchen.
  • Communicate with our culinary manager to keep ingredients stocked.
  • Follow best practices for food safety and company processes and policies.
  • Support teachers and create a professional environment of mutual respect.

  • Essential Skills and Experience :

  • Ability to correctly and safely use standard kitchen equipment. Chefs' knives, ovens, roasters.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for food preparation.
  • Product ordering and receiving.
  • Menu Planning
  • Commitment to some scratch cooking and healthful foods.
  • Identify new recipes for use
  • Knowledge of safety practices for handling dishware and food deliveries.
  • Ability to understand and follow direction from managers.
  • Job requires knowledge of correct chemical handling
  • Assist other team members as required.
  • Physical Demands and Work Environment :

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
  • Employee must be able to work on their feet 8 hour per day excluding breaks.
  • Employee has to work to meet time deadlines
  • Ability to remove garbage to dumpster areas.
  • Proper lifting skills must be used when handling stock.
  • Ability to load and push a cart a short distance.
  • Ability to work in a sometimes hot environment.
