Concrete Construction Estimator

Overview : Pate Construction is seeking an experienced Concrete Construction Estimator with a minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial construction and concrete work. This role is key to the success of our project planning and execution and works closely with both executive leadership and project management teams. Responsibilities : Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to assess concrete requirements. Prepare accurate, detailed cost estimates and conceptual cost studies from schematic or early-stage documentation. Analyze labor, material, and equipment costs to develop comprehensive project estimates. Identify gaps or inconsistencies in provided information and ask critical questions to ensure a thorough cost evaluation. Solicit and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors. Collaborate with general contractors and internal teams to clarify scope and align expectations. Participate in pre-bid meetings and job site visits as needed. Stay current with market trends, materials, and pricing in the concrete construction industry. Contribute to value engineering and cost-saving strategies. Track scope changes and update estimates accordingly. Coordinate with field teams (Superintendents, Foremen, Project Managers, etc.) to ensure estimates align with project schedule, logistics, and execution approach. Understand unit costs and key factors affecting concrete construction pricing. Qualifications : Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical documents. Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial construction, preferably concrete formwork. Applicable field experience acceptable. Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and listening abilities. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy. Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Effective team player who collaborates well with both internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and Autodesk AutoCAD products.
