Job Summary
The School of Education at Dalton State College seeks applications for a tenure-track Associate or Full Professor position in Classical Education & Alternative Educational Philosophies beginning January 1, 2025, or August 1, 2026. The start date is negotiable. Teaching focus includes alternative educational philosophies / methods such as Classical Education, Dual Language Immersion, and the Finnish Model. Faculty may teach general education or freshmen experience courses and undergraduate-level topics. If graduate programs are approved, the School will submit for approval of an MEd / MAT, and candidates should be prepared to teach graduate courses in these areas. Preferred candidates will teach and research across the listed alternative philosophies / pedagogies.
Faculty workload comprises five components : (1) teaching, (2) student success, (3) research / scholarship / creative activity or academic achievement, (4) professional service to the institution or community, and (5) professional growth. The rank of associate / full is commensurate with educational background, expertise, and higher education experience. This position includes limited funding for resources relevant to the role.
