Job Description - Mechanical Assembler

The primary purpose of this role is to assemble mechanical components of a winch or hoist system and related hardware according to blueprint specifications. This position requires proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints, and assembling components to meet those specifications. Candidates should have experience with inspection tools such as calipers and gauges, particularly in military and defense sectors.

Responsibilities

Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints for all assemblies to be fabricated.
Identify all parts required for fabrication and report missing parts or any issues to the Supervisor.
Fabricate assemblies in accordance with standards specified on engineering drawings and blueprints.
Inspect own work; repair or rework assembly as necessary.
Set up test equipment according to specifications.
Conduct and document tests of units as per specifications when needed.

Essential Skills

Skillful use of various hand tools and standard measuring equipment such as test gauges, calipers, and scales.

Mechanical assembly and production experience.

Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints and engineering drawings.

Experience with test equipment, schematic wiring, electrical assembly, and inspection.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High School Diploma plus trade or mechanical experience preferred.

Ability to work under limited direction.

Capability to perform set-ups, operations, and processes within recognized or standard methods or procedures.

Ability to troubleshoot problems and take corrective actions.

This is a Permanent position based out of Whippany, New Jersey.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $54163.00 - $54163.00 / yr.
