Job Title : Fitter / Welder ($18-$19 per hour)

Location : Montgomery

Job Type : Full-time

Shift : Day

Pay Range : $18-$19 per hour

Position Overview :

The Fitter / Welder will be responsible for laying out, fitting, and welding metal components according to detailed blueprints and specifications. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain precision while meeting production deadlines.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols to determine layout and assembly requirements
  • Fit and align structural components and assemblies before welding
  • Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding as required for the project
  • Inspect and verify dimensions using measuring instruments and templates
  • Operate fabrication tools such as grinders, torches, and cutting equipment
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure weld integrity and alignment accuracy
  • Maintain welding equipment and ensure proper safety practices are followed
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet project timelines

Requirements :

  • 1+ year of fitting and welding experience in a fabrication or industrial environment
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and understanding welding symbols
  • Strong knowledge of welding techniques and metal properties
  • Ability to use cutting torches, grinders, and measuring tools
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding work
  • Dependable, safety-minded, and detail-oriented
  • Must be able to pass a weld test

    • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Certification in MIG / TIG / Stick welding or structural welding (AWS or equivalent)
  • Experience with carbon steel, stainless steel, and / or aluminum fabrication
  • Background in heavy industrial, manufacturing, or construction settings
