About The Position

Experience :

Must have experience in ICP or ventriculostomy.

Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within the last three years.

Telemetry experience is required.

License :

Traveler must have a nursing license or compact license from their permanent address state.

Certifications :

BLS / ACLS must be certified through the American Heart Association only.

Telemetry Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience.

Must-Have :

Pass a telemetry test prior to starting.

Experience in accessing ports, arterial line management, chest tube insertion and removal, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, continuous IV paralytics, continuous sedation, CVA management, and ICP monitoring.

Description :

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to provide intensive care to patients who are acutely ill from neurological deficits.

This unit specializes in subarachnoid hemorrhages, unstable ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, traumatic brain injuries, and spinal cord injuries.

The Neuroscience ICU is a 16-bed unit that provides ICP monitoring and hemodynamic monitoring of unstable patients.

The position offers an opportunity to work with severe neurological, neurovascular, and neurosurgical populations.

Management of dysrhythmias and experience with external ventricular drains is essential.

Candidates should also have knowledge in phlebotomy, post-operative management, and procedural sedation administration.

Weekend rotations and some holiday coverage will be required.

Travelers may float to different units depending on current staffing needs.
