Required Skills & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 8 years in performance engineering and testing, with at least 3 years in a lead architect role.
  • Proficiency with tools such as JMeter, Gatling, k6, Dynatrace, New Relic, AppDynamics, Open Telemetry, and Jaeger.
  • Strong skills in profiling (e.g., JFR, Async-Profiler), SQL tuning, and microservices.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and CI / CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in defining performance NFRs, budgets, SLOs, and SLIs per service / user flow.
  • Ability to architect and own load, stress, spike, soak, and concurrency test suites and test data.
  • Experience embedding performance gates in CI / CD and enabling shift-left testing with reusable harnesses.

    • Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end performance testing strategy, defining NFRs / SLOs and driving bottleneck analysis and tuning across app, data, and infrastructure.
  • Analyze results with APM / tracing tools to pinpoint hotspots (CPU, GC, IO, DB, locks).
  • Recommend and track code / config / DB / infra optimizations with before / after metrics.
  • Lead capacity modeling and scaling plans to ensure release performance readiness.
  • Create playbooks and dashboards, and coach teams on best practices.
