Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring a MD or compact RN license and at least two years of OR and endoscopy experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a short-term acute care hospital Operating Room and Endoscopy unit
  • Expectation to circulate in both the OR and Endoscopy areas
  • Trauma Level I environment
  • One RN per OR
  • Cerner charting system is required
  • Day shifts are 7 : 00–17 : 00 (4x10 hours) and evening shifts are 15 : 00–23 : 30 (5x8 hours)
  • Call coverage required : 2-3 weekend shifts (12 hours) every six weeks, includes some holiday coverage as needed
  • Occasional weekday coverage and participation in holiday rotation required
  • Duties include circulating in the OR and assisting in endoscopy procedures
  • Must be comfortable with a variable schedule and call
  • Hunter green scrubs are required
  • No parking fees for staff
  • Pre-employment modules must be completed prior to orientation
  • No more than 7 days of requested time off per 13-week contract is highly preferred, with no time off permitted during the first two weeks
  • Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a reduced rate

    • Requirements

  • Active MD or compact RN license required
  • At least two years of Operating Room and endoscopy RN experience
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Experience circulating in the Operating Room required
  • Cerner charting experience required
  • Trauma Level I experience required
  • Preferred : Charge Nurse, Robotics XI, and ortho / neuro experience
  • Two professional supervisor references from the past two years required
  • Candidates with previous permanent employment at this health system must have at least one year since last employment
  • First-time travelers will not be considered
