We are looking for an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our team in Toano, Virginia. In this role, you will oversee accounts payable and receivable, maintain accurate financial records, and ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements. You will be the sole accountant managing essential financial operations while collaborating with other team members to ensure seamless processes.
Responsibilities :
- Handle accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate entries.
- Maintain detailed financial records and resolve any discrepancies.
- Oversee cash flow management and prepare financial reports for tax filings, including annual tax and 1099 reports.
- Manage multistate sales tax reporting and compliance, working closely with Avalara.
- Collaborate with the customer service / accounting team member on credit card coding, asset tracking, and subscription / license management.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.
- Utilize Oracle NetSuite for financial operations and reporting.
- Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and reconcile bank statements to maintain accurate financial data.
- Provide insights and recommendations to the company president based on financial analysis.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts receivable and accounts payable accounting.
- Proficiency in Oracle NetSuite is required.
- Strong knowledge of accrual basis accounting principles.
- Experience in managing multistate compliance and reporting.
- Familiarity with accounting in wholesale and retail business environments.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Preferred experience with Microsoft Teams.
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred.
