Structure Supervisor - Catoosa, OK
Position Overview
The Structure Supervisor will lead a manufacturing team and coordinate with suppliers in the construction and fabrication of structural steel components. This role requires a hands-on leader who can actively contribute to production while ensuring quality, efficiency, and adherence to project schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, manage, and oversee the production schedule to meet project deadlines.
Maintain cost controls and regularly review job performance against budget.
Serve as a working supervisor by welding and charging time to jobs when necessary.
Visit subcontract suppliers to monitor quality, cost, and delivery timeliness.
Ensure safety, quality, and production standards are consistently followed.
Verify that facility, equipment, and supply levels are adequate to support operations.
Directly supervise and support shop personnel and shift leads.
Manage staffing levels to balance efficiency while controlling overtime.
Communicate effectively with Engineering, Purchasing, and Project Management to reduce costs and ensure on-time delivery.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of structural steel welding procedures; AWS and CWB standards a plus.
Ability to implement efficient manufacturing methods for steel fabrication.
Strong skills in blueprint reading, interpreting specifications, and taking accurate measurements.
Understanding of PQR and WPS requirements, including workforce planning and testing.
Demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor, and develop personnel.
Experience working with suppliers to ensure timely material availability.
Familiarity with ERP systems for scheduling and bill of materials (BOM) management.
Strong working relationships with sales, quality, engineering, purchasing, and customers.
Ability to monitor job costs and make effective decisions to keep projects on track.
Requirements
Technical degree preferred, or 10+ years of welding and / or fabrication industry experience.
2–5 years of hands-on welding experience with MIG, TIG, and / or SAW equipment.
Solid understanding of labor and material cost elements in structural steel fabrication.
Physical Requirements
Work is performed in a heavy steel fabrication shop environment with potential for multiple shifts.
Occasional travel between fabrication facilities.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and walk 10,000–20,000 steps per day.
Work involves both office and shop floor settings.
Pay : Competitive, $34+ / hr - based on experience.
Schedule : Full-time, Day Shift
