East Tulsa Location – Chouteau, OK

General Labor Pay Rate and Hours :

  • Pay : $20 / hr
  • Monday through Friday, 7am-4pm
  • Contract assignment (until at least next summer)

We are seeking a highly motivated and physically capable Power Plant Laborer to join our O&M team. This essential role is focused on maintaining the operational cleanliness, safety, and readiness of the power generation site. The ideal candidate is dedicated to safety, prepared for demanding physical work in varying industrial conditions, and capable of following directions precisely.

General Labor Job Description :

  • Facility Cleanup and Maintenance : Execute thorough and timely cleanup of all production, mechanical, and storage areas, including heavy sweeping, shoveling, vacuuming, and pressure washing to remove dust, coal fines, ash, debris, and other operational byproducts.
  • Material Handling : Assist in the loading, unloading, and movement of materials, tools, and equipment across the plant site.
  • Assigned Tasks : Perform miscellaneous support duties as directed by supervisors, which may include assisting skilled trades workers (mechanics, electricians) with basic tasks, moving staging, preparing work sites, or general groundskeeping.
  • Safety Adherence : Strictly follow all established plant safety procedures, environmental regulations, and lock-out / tag-out protocols.
  • Equipment Operation : Safely operate common cleaning and labor equipment, such as industrial vacuums, hand tools, and small motorized vehicles (if certified).

    • General Labor Job Requirements :

  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds independently and regularly throughout the shift.
  • Must be comfortable and capable of working safely at elevated heights, including on scaffolding, platforms, and roofs, while using required safety restraints.
  • Must be able to work in areas with significant industrial noise (requiring mandatory hearing protection), dust, dirt, varying temperatures, and poor ventilation.
  • Must have the ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, and occasional weekends as needed for maintenance outages or critical cleanup operations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to personal and team safety in a heavy industrial setting.
  • Previous experience in a power generation, construction, or heavy industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with industrial safety practices (e.g., confined space entry, fall protection).
