Summary

We are currently seeking a motivated, self-starting Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to support and help grow our Water / Wastewater Practice in Iowa . This role requires a strong background in potable water infrastructure , including treatment, storage, and distribution systems. Ideal candidates will bring experience managing projects from conceptual planning through design, bidding, permitting, and construction, with a particular focus on delivering safe and reliable drinking water to communities.

Projects within our Water group include raw water supply (well and surface water intakes), potable water treatment facilities, pumping systems, elevated and ground storage, transmission and distribution networks , and regulatory compliance with state and federal drinking water standards. Wastewater projects may include treatment plant design, collection system assessments and rehabilitation, pump / lift stations, and process / mechanical piping systems. The Project Manager will also be responsible for client relationship management and mentoring junior team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Project Management Duties

• Prepares scopes of services, detailed project budgets, and contracts.
• Responsible for completing each project or assigned task on time and on budget. Regularly monitors project schedules and budgets throughout the project life cycle and leads formal project reviews.
• Assigns and manages tasks, schedules, and budgets to project team members (including any sub-consultants). Leads project kickoff and status meetings.
• Provides feedback and mentorship to junior team members and conducts performance reviews.
• Ensures accuracy and quality through established QA / QC processes.
• Proactively identifies and resolves technical, schedule, or financial issues.
• Assists clients in contractor selection and bidding processes.
• Oversees construction administration activities, including field observations and coordination.
• Manages timely invoicing and fee collection.
• Ability to manage multiple potable water and wastewater projects is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

Must possess a current, valid Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and have the ability to obtain licensure in one or more other states in which HR Green conducts business. The employee must be capable of driving / operating a motor vehicle for company business, and maintain a valid driver’s license in the state of residence.
